The sandwich cookie and the fudge cookie are the two most-bought cookie formats in America and, between them, average 12–14g of sugar per serving. We wanted both at a third of that without the hollow taste of a diet cookie. The trick is the same one behind our wafels: prebiotic fiber carries texture and a little sweetness, so the sugar can come down without the cookie turning dry.

Leos (Golden Vanilla, Cookies & Creme) are for people who twist, dunk and eat the middle first. Two crisp cookies, real cream filling, 4g sugar and 4g fiber.

Romeos (Dark Chocolate Fudge, Milk Chocolate) are soft and dense, closer to a brownie bite than a cookie. 4g sugar, 3g fiber, 120 calories, and they warm up well.

Which first? Cookies & Creme Leos if you want the familiar sandwich-cookie experience; Dark Chocolate Fudge Romeos if you'd rather have something soft with coffee. Both come in boxes of individually wrapped servings. If you're after a crisp wafer instead of a cookie, the Wafers collection is the lower-sugar option at 1–2g.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Leos and Romeos?

Leos are crisp cream-filled sandwich cookies (110 calories, 4g sugar). Romeos are soft-baked fudge cookies (120 calories, 4g sugar). Both use real cocoa and prebiotic fiber.

How much sugar do Rip Van cookies have?

4g per serving for both Leos and Romeos, compared with 12–14g in a typical sandwich or fudge cookie.

Are Rip Van cookies good for kids' lunchboxes?

Yes. They're individually wrapped, don't need refrigeration, and a single wrapper is one portion.

Do you make a lower-sugar cookie than 4g?

Our wafers are 1–2g sugar per serving and our mini wafels are 1g.
